Terms and conditions
Between Macaron ("Macaron") and any user of the service ("the student")
1. General information
Macaron is an online tutoring service offering lessons in French as a foreign language to students aged 16 and above who reside in the United Kingdom. Macaron does not guarantee success in any exams or specific objectives as a contractual commitment and shall not be held liable if the student does not achieve their personal learning goals. Macaron does not undertake to complete homework, university assignments, or any other work on behalf of the student. Additionally, Macaron does not provide translation services.
2. Lesson Scheduling and Pricing
Upon initial contact, Macaron and the student will agree on the timing and pricing of the lessons. Lessons are conducted online using Teams and typically last 50 minutes. If the student is late, the lesson will continue for the remaining time of the originally booked period but will not exceed it.
3. Payment terms
Payments must be made via bank transfer to Macaron's account and received within 48 hours following the lesson. No subsequent lessons can take place until payment for the previous lesson is received.
4. Absence, Cancellation, and Rescheduling Policy
The student may reschedule or cancel their lessons up to 24 hours before the scheduled time. If a lesson is missed, cancelled, or rescheduled by the student within 24 hours of the scheduled time, the full lesson fee is due.
5. Tutor Availability
In the event that Macaron is unable to conduct a lesson, the student will be notified as soon as possible and will not be charged for the missed lesson.
6. Termination of Lessons
The student is free to discontinue lessons at any time. However, if a lesson is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time, the full lesson fee is still due.
7. Changes to Terms and Conditions
Macaron reserves the right to change the price, medium, and any other characteristics of the lessons at any time. In such cases, the student may choose to discontinue lessons without any penalties.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Macaron is committed to protecting the privacy of the student. Personal data collected during the course of lessons will be handled in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and will not be shared with third parties without the student's consent. 9. Intellectual Property
ll lesson materials provided by Macaron remain the intellectual property of Macaron and are for the student's personal use only. The student is not permitted to share, distribute, or reproduce these materials without prior written consent from Macaron.
10. Code of Conduct
Both the tutor and the student are expected to maintain a respectful and professional behaviour during lessons. Any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in the termination of lessons.
11. Technical Requirements
The student is responsible for ensuring they have the necessary technical equipment for online lessons, including a stable internet connection, a working microphone, and a webcam. Macaron is not responsible for any technical issues that may arise on the student's end.
12. Limitation of Liability
Macaron shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from the tutoring services. The total liability of Macaron for any claim arising out of or in connection with the services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the student for the lessons.
13. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute between Macaron and the student, both parties agree to attempt to resolve the matter through mediation or arbitration before pursuing legal action.
14. Governing Law
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

16. Acceptance of Terms
By starting lessons with Macaron, the student accepts these terms and conditions and confirms that they meet all the requirements to use Macaron's services.
